Play OverviewPlay Overview

GTFO (2021) (Get The F*%k Out) is a horror shooting game where you work with other players to survive. The game stands out for the high challenge it sets (and tension it creates) as you use stealth, strategy and teamwork to survive the deadly, underground prison. Work together or die together.

You and your team of prisoners take on a series of expeditions into a decaying facility full of zombie creatures. You work down level by level, scavenging tools and resources to help you survive and navigate the tunnel network where gruesome creatures lurk.

Play involves working with three other human players (or computer controlled teammates if friends aren't available). You must plan what gear, weapons and boosters you will bring to each new level. A balanced team is essential as you sneak through the tunnels collect resources and fight the zombie-like creatures.

The focus on stealth continues as you explore. Many of the creatures are hibernating, so light, noise, and vibrations can easily wake them. Once you do, the action switches to gun play and team focused strategy. Each level has its own work order mission that requires you to complete specific objectives.

The results is a tense, team centric thrill ride. It's at times creepy and at times horrific. What stands out is the need to consider your approach and tactics rather than rush in all guns blazing. This is as much a puzzle as it is a shooting game.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked GTFO 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 22 months ago.
