Play Overview
Mail Time (2023) is a running and jumping adventure where you play a novice Mail Scout on their first delivery. With only a name to identify the recipient, you explore the wild Grumblewood Grove, helping the animal inhabitants in exchange for clues. While the end goal is set, how you approach it, where you go, who you talk to and what you do, are all up to you. It stands out for its escalating treasure hunt that drives exploration of the cosy autumn forest and the people who live there.
You play a fresh-faced Mail Scout, newly moved to the magical Grumblewood Grove, home to countless anthropomorphic animal inhabitants. Your task seems simple: deliver your first letter. However, it's addressed only to "Greg". To locate and deliver the letter, you ask the people you meet in the swampy marshlands, verdant meadows and trunks of huge trees. Though cartoon cut-scenes they furnish you not only with information about Greg but their own letters for you to deliver.
As you progress your treasure hunt, you run, jump, and glide across the peaceful grove with your trusty bee companion, searching for clues that can help you puzzle out Greg's identity and whereabouts. There's no damage or violence in the game, and the world is fully open from the start, meaning you can go anywhere and talk to anyone you meet.
The result is a fantastical fairy-tale adventure that gives you the freedom to play how you want; explore, befriend, and discover the secrets of the ancient woods. It's simple to pick up and play, with no penalties for failing and no time limits, so everyone, from young children to teens and parents, can have fun playing.
