Play Overview
Nira (2020) is a survival game where pixelated characters explore the primitive world to find resources. It's unusual not only because of its basic art style but because its simplicity gives rise to emergent and open play. Something like a cross between Terraria and Minecraft.
You can play with up to 4 people on the same system to quest, level up, gain skills, farm, fish, cook, ride or even fly a plane. You can have fun and take things at your own pace, but when night falls you need to be ready for the creatures that come out: goblins, ogres and other monsters.
Build a base to defend yourself at night. Hunt for food and cook meals to stay alive. Build vehicles or tame and ride animals. Gather resources to craft tools and weapons.
Our examiner, Oli Hawkins, first checked Nira 4 years ago. It was re-examined by Thom Robertson and updated 8 weeks ago.
