Play OverviewPlay Overview

Quantum League (2021) is a shooting game where you go back in time when you die, to play through the same loop of the battle. You have three lives and so play through the same short gun-fight three times. But each time you have more knowledge about what the other players (and your previous selves) will do. To win the game you need to have one of your clones in the centre zone when time runs out. If you die you can get a pack that will extend your time like a med pack would in other games.

It sounds complicated, but the bottom line is that this is a shooting game that puts the focus firmly on strategy, planning and intelligent thinking rather than just quick reactions and head-shots.

You can play solo against an online opponent in 1-v-1 battles or team up with a friend in 2-v-2 multiplayer matches. Along with the different formats, you can pick a range of modes. Free-For-All and Point Capture across 9 different arenas. There are currently 6 different characters and 6 varied weapons. You can unlock new outfits and styles as you progress.

The game is well designed to take advantage of this time-looping play with carefully designed small arenas. It also encourages other time-bending strategies like shooting where you think a future player may be in subsequent rounds. It's all very meta, but actually a lot of fun too.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Quantum League 4 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated a year ago.

Not yet rated. Likely to be PEGI 16 and ESRB TEEN. There is no blood, although enemies do flinch when shot and their bodies remain on the ground once they have been killed. That said, the time travelling and cartoon visuals make it clear that this is a fantasy rather than real experience.
