Play Overview
RPG Time: The Legend of Wright (2022) is an adventure game set in a hand drawn notebook brought to life by an inventive schoolboy. Your adventure takes you through the pages of the book with varied challenges that suit younger players.
Play involves working through those story book pages in your quest to thwart the Demon King and save the Princess of Light and her kingdom. To progress you take on a range of challenges and enemies, all made from the things our schoolboy creator had to hand, or drawn in his notebook
As you progress you meet all manner of people, animals, and demons who you can choose to work with or against. The main battles are decided by timing your sword attacks with the right stick. This is complemented with other mini-games that have you take on action, adventure, side-scrolling, shooting and even strategy battle challenges. They are all pretty simple, but for younger players they are a lot of fun.
The result is a unique game that looks like nothing else. The hand crafted and drawn levels are inviting to youngsters new to gaming. It's a game that takes its time, so you need a little patience that some children may find frustrating, but as a whole it offers a lovely window on a world from the mind of a child for other children to enjoy.
