Play Overview
Sir Lovelot (2021) is a running and jumping game where you play as a knight and travel room to room through a pixel fantasy world. You climb and swing, and jump across platforms, defeating monsters and saving princesses. Along with the retro visuals, Sir Lovelot is unusual because rather than your knight going on a heroic quest to save a princess, he falls for every princess he comes across.
You run through the levels and avoid traps and spikes while using your gun to fight monsters. Throughout the game, the levels get increasingly more difficult and in each of them, there are secret areas to explore. There are levers and buttons which open gates and unlock platforms for you to use. The objective of the game is to reach each of the princess's towers and give them what you have collected, such as a flower.
Your score at the end of each level is recorded depending on how quickly you finish, so the faster you finish the level, the higher the score you get. The collectible gifts and treasures hidden in the levels also contribute to how high your score is.
The game plays to the tongue-in-cheek nature of a lovelorn prince. This leads to some slightly rude humour. But still things are kept suitable for children 7 and over. It’s worth noting that it’s a hard game to master, and younger players may need some assistance to progress through the levels.
