Play OverviewPlay Overview

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical (2023) is a tongue-in-cheek narrative game set in a world where Greek Gods live among us. You play by talking to (and singing with) people and deciding who you can trust. It stands out not only for the branching narrative about fate and self-discovery but how this is wrapped up in songs that also respond to the choices you make.

You play as Grace and decide her fate by drawing friends, foes & lovers into song using your powers of musical persuasion. Along with the usual ability to make conversational decisions, you also do this in song. Here you have a limited time to make decisions that affect how the song developers as well as your character's choices. It's a chance to make music, but also to work your charm, negotiate, or strong-arm your way through the world.

As you progress you discover the hidden world of mythic Greek gods and monsters which here are not imposing or scary but a cast of hilarious, enigmatic, and compelling characters. You steadily build friendships that take you in unexpected directions - romance, betrayal, intrigue.

The result is an impressive and fully orchestrated musical experience about hope, self-discovery, and forging your path. Affecting the construction of the songs as well as the narrative is a unique experience that stays with you after you've finished. It's one you can revisit as each play-through is different, depending on your decisions.
