Play OverviewPlay Overview

Tunche (2021) is a fighting game where you battle your way through horizontal levels that are different each time you play. It features comic-style environments and characters, each with their own skills and special abilities. The goal is to defeat bosses to progress and unravel the story of a mysterious Amazonian jungle, although the fun is the brawling, point scoring and pulling off combat combos along the way.

The story features elements of Peruvian legends and folklore. Gameplay centres around an aggressive fighting style where high-risk attacks can yield higher rewards. The fights take place across four different worlds, each with its own set of enemies. The worlds are procedurally generated, so every journey is different.

The result is a charming game with a bombastic play style. It's a game for players who enjoy bashing away at enemies to progress through the levels. The reward is in the camaraderie and the bits of the story and move upgrades you learn.

Our examiner, Chris Boers, first checked Tunche 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 2 weeks ago.
