Play Overview
Unwording (2023) is a narrative puzzle where you play Tom who is struggling with depression. You move around and look at different objects in the world. In them you see words made of blocks that you rearrange into other (often darker) words.
Play is simple. You move explore the world and find words to rearrange. By doing this you help the character express their feelings and depression. Then one day, you leave a window open and a small yellow bird flies in. Slowly your worldview widens with the hope of seeing the unexplored, hidden dimensions of the world.
In this way you share three painful but transformative days of Tom's life.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Unwording 22 months ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated a year ago.
