Play OverviewPlay Overview

Wii Music (2008) is a rhythm-music game where you use Wii Remote motion controller to play different instruments. Unlike other music games, here you collaborate on playing arrangements of existing songs. The result is a super-approachable music game that's perfect first rhythm game for the family.

Each player chooses a musical instrument and then mimics the required motion with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment. Unusually, you aren't scored on your accuracy but encouraged to experiment with different ways to play the songs and interact with the instruments.

Although Wii Music is often seen as a commercial failure compared to Wii Sports or Wii Play, it's a real hidden gem for the right family. Not only does it let you play instruments without specialised controllers, but it keeps progress light and breezy with an emphasis of fun and cooperation. It's a Jazz-and-Jamming approach to rhythm action fun.
