Shortly after joining a band of pirates Zack and Wiki discover a talking skull that tasks you with finding the rest of its body. In return, it promises to lead them to the Treasure Island. Zack & Wiki is a twist on the standard point-and-click play. You use the Wii Remote to point and interact with each area as well as move the two characters around to get to the treasure chest and complete the challenge.
As you progress you also use the motion-sensitive controller to mimic real-world actions like pulling levers, turning keys, and pouring liquids. You can also shake the Wii Remote to turn any nearby enemies into tools for solving the current puzzle.
The result is an endearing adventure with simple interactions, puzzles and exciting boss battles. The lighthearted storyline combines with lively music to create an enjoyable challenge for the whole family. It's a great game for parents and children to have fun together.
The game's adventure mild peril theme means you see things explode and are chased by mechanical monsters. The mission you are on is to magically reanimate the body of the skill. This kind of voodoo style magic persists throughout.
8+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Younger players need critical thinking and problem-solving to progress. To work out what to do you also need good observation, analysis, and creativity. There is some hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills required for the Wii Remote pointing. Perseverance and patience become more important on the harder puzzles. Although one player, good communication and collaboration is useful if playing with friends or family to brainstorm ideas and tackle the puzzles as a team.
