The Case of the Golden Idol is a point-and-click adventure set in the 18th century, where you attempt to solve 12 gruesome deaths. You play by investigating each scene to gather information in the form of words that you piece together to make statements to solve what happened.

NotesAccessibility Notes

There are no time limits or moments where fast reactions are needed, with the game unfolding as you click on different items and slowly piece together the mystery. You need to be able to think critically about every piece of information and remember it well, as the game offers no hints. You can turn on and off a glimmer that appears over people and items you can inspect, which change colour once you've discovered every secret they hold.

Much of the game is reliant on text, which is high in contrast but often very small. There are occasional flashing effects, such as lightning bolts, but they appear somewhat slowly and aren't overly bright. Still, they are important to be aware of. Some areas are quite dark and subsequently low in contrast.
