Babble Royale (2021) is a puzzle word game played against 16 other players online. You simultaneously race to make words as in Scrabble. Here, though, you do this to inch across the board and stay out of the encroaching storm.
Play is non-stop, high-speed. You move by becoming each new word you make. You eliminate other players by connecting new words you enter to theirs, before anyone connects to yours. The last remaining player wins the round.
Like in Fortnite and other Battle Royale games, the deadly hot zone is creeping in from the edges of the map, forcing players together for the final showdown. As you progress, you can collect items from fallen enemies scattered around the map. This can enable you to get more letters faster, clear letters around your tile, shuffle your tiles and gain health back.
The result is a competitive game that requires you to be smart rather than quick. It's a combination of classic word-making gameplay with fast-paced tactical action.
