Play Overview
Bleep Bloop (2019) is a puzzle game where you manoeuvre two coloured blobs through increasingly complex stages. Each moves in a straight line until it hits a wall, and can interact with switches and obstacles that alter the layout of the level. It's a familiar concept, but the way you need to use both characters in tandem to reach the exit and unlock the way forward makes it stand out.
You control both characters, Bleep and Bloop, individually, or play with a friend and each control one, and move them through the stages to reach the two highlighted squares which serve as the exits. To get there, you need to carefully analyse each stage and figure out how to use the wall and each other to position yourself correctly. As you progress, you encounter switches to make blocks and walls appear and disappear, sticky glue that lets you stop without touching a wall, and even blocks that mirror each character's movement. Experimenting with different approaches to each new challenge is essential to overcoming the stages.
The result is a game that takes a tried-and-tested puzzle formula and expands it with novel obstacles and mechanics, and two characters that must work together to reach the end goal, to create an unusual and challenging twist.
