Although on mobile devices, the game aims to deliver an experience like you get on a bigger console. You can adjust the controls on the smaller screen as well as use voice and text chat to coordinate with other players.
As you progress you unlock characters, weapons, outfits, scorestreaks and pieces of gear to use in the game. But the focus is still kept on skill and strategy. In competitive Ranked Modes you compete to improve your online rank an earn prizes for your community and "Clan" of other players.
Played from a first-person perspective, these games take considerable skill to master. Although the setting, weaponry, narrative and game modes are developed and enhanced each year, the core experience remains the same.

13+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content. You need a good sense of direction, quick wits and fast reactions. Understanding how best to achieve the missions also helps, as does having the resilience to not mind when you lose and keep pushing ahead even if you are behind.
You don’t need a platform subscription to play this game online.
