Play OverviewPlay Overview

Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021) is a shooting game set during end of the World War II. It's the eighteenth instalment in the Call of Duty series. Vanguard offers similar gameplay to previously Call of Duty games like Modern Warfare. You can mount weapons on flat surfaces, open doors and perform takedowns. This year you can also blind fire from behind cover, breaking through walls and fences or climb structures to gain the element of surprise.

The multiplayer mode offers 20 maps, customisable weapon classes and a new way to select different pace of combat in these games. A new Patrol mode tasks you with capturing and holding a moving zone to earn points for your team. There will be a Zombies mode in this game that will act as a prequel to Black Ops Cold War Zombies. The game will also bring changes to the battle royale Call of Duty Warzone experience, unlocking new maps and weapons.

Our examiner, Jo Robertson, first checked Call of Duty: Vanguard 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Thom Robertson and updated 2 weeks ago.

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 18 for Bad Language and Violence. This game features graphic violence, including decapitations and dismemberments, as well as gunshot injuries. There is sight of blood and realistic gore. Characters can be set alight using a flame thrower or a flammable liquid, causing them to scream and jump about in an effort to extinguish the flames. Their flesh and clothes turn black. There are a number of scenes in which members of the player's team are subjected to violence during interrogation, including being beaten with a wooden club and having their head bashed against a table top. The player is able to kill civilians and friendlies, although this causes a warning message to appear and players are then required to restart from the previous checkpoint. There is also occasional use of strong language ('f*!k').
