Creatures of Ava (2024) is an adventure game where you tame creatures with your flute to help you save the planet from infection. Play involves exploring the world to find creatures, and then making use of their skills to delve deeper into the world and solve environmental puzzles. You play Vic, a 22-year-old naturalist and pied-piper animal-saver. Along with your research assistant, Tabitha, you must investigate the infection that's causing creatures to become aggressive. You use your indigenous Flute melodies to tame creatures and gain their help. As you explore a variety of biomes (Nari jungle, Mâruba swamp for example) you make use of their skills in non-violent combat that heals rather than defeats those who stand in your way.

The result is a game that's dense in flora and fauna. You learn to work with rich ecosystems and creatures you meet, finding balance rather than mastery is the way to cure the infection. It offers a chance to step out of our human-centric perspective to learn about the real cost of preserving the primal beauty at the very roots of Ava.
