Play OverviewPlay Overview

Dragon City Mobile (2013) is a puzzle game where you nurture dragons from egg to fully grown. It's a virtual pet you look after by feeding, breeding and creating homes. You can fight other dragons and go online to visit friends' dragons.

Play revolves around nurturing your dragon. To do this you need to perform certain activities that earn you game currency to buy things. While you can stick to doing this, the app repeatedly invites real money to be spent so you can level up even faster. Without spending it can take up to 20 hours for tasks to complete.

As you progress you open up more options and collectible items. These work through a series of different increasingly valuable items: Fire, Nature, Pure, Legend and so on. The most valuable dragons are hybrids of rare and special versions only available for a limited period. You can interact and trade with other players in the Trading Hub.

Overall it's a game designed to be more fun with in-game purchases. That aside, provided you have set up a PIN and protections on spending, there's a lot of fun to be had here as you get to know your dragon, and make choices in their development from baby, to teenager and then adult.

You will be able to communicate with many other active players, discuss the game and exchange information and suggestions, or look for new friends and Alliance members." It also state that all its Official Channels are moderated to guarantee the safety of our players and the sharing of reliable and confirmed information.

There are the following additional costs associated with this game:
  • In-Game Loot Boxes: Additional in-game purchases are offered for items that enhance the experience. These include in-game purchases of random items (known as 'loot boxes') that offer a chance of getting rare/higher-value items although common/lower-value items are more frequent.

You can spend real money to speed up the development of your dragons and customise how they look. You can also earn gems by signing up for surveys or downloading apps. The game's loot boxes are Dragon Card packs that you can purchase and open, but you don't know what will be in them before you buy. You can find the probability of what will be inside on the Dragon Pack support page
