Play Overview
Everdale (2021) is an online strategy game where you build a village. With the help of friends you develop a society that survives on the basis of savvy cooperation. Unlike other civilisation games though, there is no fighting or combat. The focus is on meeting characters, trading hand-crafted items and working to make an idyllic life for your residents.
Play involves building a starter village and heading out to gather resources. You need to keep your villagers happy with food, projects and resources, as well as upgrading the things you can do. The novelty is that, unlike other town-making games, you then join with other player's villages. With nine other players, you create a valley where you share progress and resources.
As you progress, you can trade with far-off lands with ships. Timed events also add some novelty to your valley as time passes. What doesn't happen, however, is any violence. There are no invasions, no war and no losses. All you do is let your villagers flourish in the land you’ve built up with your community.
