Play Overview
KarmaZoo (2023) is a cooperative running and jumping game where you work with layers to complete platform levels. Each player controls one of 50 different creatures and objects to use their different abilities (drop ladders, make surfaces grippy) to help the group get where it needs to go.
It's like other platform games with difficult jumps and hazards, although here you need to cleverly help each other because you all have different characters with specific abilities. No two runs are quite the same when the players and the game itself are changing. You can play with a different number of players and the levels adjust to the size of your team.
As you progress you discover how each character’s strength is best used, and when it makes the most sense to sacrifice yourself to help another player. All the while the game is tracking each time you help each other and rewarding you with Karma that unlocks new characters and abilities.
The result is an unusual game with a focus on helping others rather than helping yourself. It creates moments of real teamwork and sacrifice where players of all abilities work together to get to the goal.
