Slice (2021) is a jumping and collecting game where you free an enslaved world by slicing open cursed urns and freeing souls over 25 levels. Free all the souls to open the portal to the next level, but if you touch the spikes you die. It's a game with unusual flowing movement (once you master it) as you jump and dash from wall to wall, brandishing a sword in mid air.
You work through 25 levels over 5 themed worlds. The idea is to leap and dash through the level avoiding hazards and destroying the urns. The movement through the level is unusual as you have to combine wall jumping and dashing to fly, slide and climb to each urn. This may take a while to perfect, but is worth the practice.
There is a scoreboard to compete with other players online, and you can work on achievements in the game such as completing levels without dying. The result is a polished game with really great music and a colourful retro visual style. Hours of fun and a definite challenge.
