Play Overview
Wii Sports Resort uses the enhanced MotionPlus Wii controller. This has a one-to-one movement detection rather than the more general waggle detection of the original Wii Remote.
Wii Sports Resort also offers a wider array of activities. Each of these has hidden modes to make them harder. Although some of these sound near impossible, for those that take the time to master each sport, the hidden modes extend the challenge and enjoyment. Access these harder and alternate modes on the "Select a Mii" screen before an event starts, hold the 2 button while pressing A to choose "OK.":
- Archery - Eliminate aiming circle
- Frisbee Golf - Eliminate information on the screen including wind direction/speed and the distance to the hole
- Golf - Eliminate information on the screen including wind direction/speed and the distance to the hole
- Table Tennis Match - Play an 11-point match
Wii Sports Club was released on the Wii U and incorporated the addition of the Wii U tablet controller. In Golf, you place this on the floor and it displays the lay of the ball and the swing of your club. In Baseball, you use this to catch the ball.
Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Wii Sports 5 years ago. It was re-examined by Thom Robertson and updated 4 months ago.
