Play Overview
Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered (2014) is a running, jumping and knocking-things-over game where you play a mischievous cat who wants to knock its owner's belongings onto the floor. "Bother that cat," as one children's book puts it.
You have objectives but play is open as you run around the house, topple neatly organized books, shatter vases, meow at nothing, tear up curtains, and nap in obscure places. It's as much a cat simulator as a platform puzzle game.
Drawing on how roguelike games work (multiple runs through tough dungeons) each time you take on a level it offers a freshly generated challenge. Between goes you can upgrade your feline with persistent stat boosts and abilities.
The main Goals-mode challenges you to cause damage in different locations with no time limit. You can keep going until you have used up your cat's energy. You can also race against the clock to get a certain number of items onto the floor, and score as many points in a 2-minute time frame. You can play in a sandbox mode where you explore the environment to unlock cat friends and special abilities but don't have objectives to compete.
