Clash of Clans (2012) is a cartoony strategy war game played on smartphones and tablets. Set in a fantasy world, you take charge of a village and must build defences against attacks from other players. Likewise, you gain resources by attacking others.
The basic play loop is to develop buildings, units, champions, turrets and traps. You create these by spending in-game currency and then waiting in real time for them to build. These are then placed in your village strategically to be ready for invading enemies. You choose enemy bases to attack which then happens in real time as you call in your different units to assault them in real time. Periodically throughout the day, other players will attack. You then regenerate your defences for the next battle.
You can team up with other players to form a clan. This enables you to join Clan Wars where members work together against other clans. The clan that has the most stars from these battles wins the war.
