Demon Turf (2021) is a 3D running, jumping, rolling and flying game set in a world inhabited by all kinds of enemies. As a young demon, your job is to take on the different gangs and bring them down. It's unusual because you can shape-shift but also stands out for its humour and style.

Play evolves the Mario platform games by enabling you to transform you into different creatures, which grant specific abilities. It also changes how progression is measured (and saved). You can put checkpoints down where you need them. You can also revisit beaten levels to discover their liberated state, with new mechanical and environmental changes to uncover. There's also a hub town where you can find loads of side-quests and other challenges.

It feels tactile with its physics based platforming that enables you to chain different combinations of moves and take on combat the way you want to: push, pull and spin your enemies out of your way.

The result is a delightful world to explore, with a pixel-perfect platforming challenge. The different forms you can take on open up new ways to traverse and explore the level.
