Play OverviewPlay Overview

Hitman (2000) 3 is a stealth game where you take on assassination missions and then figure out how to execute them. The dynamic situations you enter unfold as you play and you can try different approaches.

Hitman 3 is the eighth main instalment in the Hitman series and the third and final instalment of the World of Assassination trilogy. Like the previous games you play as Agent 47 and travel to various locations and carry out contracted assassinations of criminal targets. Hitman III adds six new locations including Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, and Chongqing. If you own the previous games in the trilogy, Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 (2018), you can import maps, levels and progress.

Although it is a violent game, the interest here is understanding the consequences of your actions in the game. The game simulates many moving "actors" in the scenes so you must take care with your approach. It's a living breath, tactile and immersive world where your decisions matter.

This is a game with levels designed to be played multiple times in different ways as you act out different approaches to your target. As you progress you unlock new starting locations, gear and interactive options that open up new ways to tackle levels. You get to be James Bond and put together your own tricks, exploits and stealthy take downs.

The original Hitman series launched back in 2000:

  • Hitman: Blood Money (2006) Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

The World of Assassination trilogy relaunched the game in 2016:
  • Hitman (2016)
  • Hitman 2 (2018)
  • Hitman 3 (2021)

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 18 for strong violence and use of strong language. The player's character is tasked with assassinating various targets, including by shooting, stabbing and strangling them, with resultant blood effects. In some cases, the violence is more sadistic in nature, including plunging scissors into eye sockets and drowning a character by holding their head in a toilet bowl. There is an emphasis on the use of stealth in order to avoid detection. While the objective is to assassinate specific targets, the player's character can also kill innocent civilian characters, including by shooting them, catching them in explosions or causing large objects to fall onto them. Blood effects are shown and their bodies remain on the floor until the end of the level. These characters may attempt to flee when they realise they are in danger, but they can still be killed as they try to escape. The game does not reward the player for such acts and killing innocent characters negatively affects your score. There is infrequent use of strong language ('*!@?*'). The game also features the sight of illegal drug use and smoking.

Rated for younger players in Australia. Rated Mature Accompanied (MA 15+) for Strong Violence.
