Play OverviewPlay Overview

Lego Vidiyo (2021) (pronounced Lego Video) is a music game where you use an app and physical Lego to create music videos to share. The app is free, but you buy the sets that come with special tiles that unlock music loops and effects. You can use the camera on your smart device to place your Lego characters in the real world and film their performance.

It's like TikTok (BrickTok?) aimed at children and with careful moderation (checked by real people). You have creative control of the music and video production through triggering dances and audio effects in performances up to 60-seconds recorded in real time. These can then be trimmed down to 5, 10, 15 or 20 second shareable clips.

The song clips included come from a partnership with Universal Music Group. The building aspect of the kits focuses on creating a stage that includes the special tiles. You then scan in your creation and your beats and character appear on the screen.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Lego Vidiyo 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 13 months ago.
