Please, Touch The Artwork (2022) is a puzzle game that tells a story with real abstract paintings. Unconventionally it asks, what would happen if we did touch the artwork in museums? The answer is revealed over three stories each focusing on a different painting.
Play involves colour puzzles that are solved by interacting with them. In the first game, you discover the origin of abstract art as you add colours and lines to the canvas to reproduce the target painting. In the second, you meet Boogie & Woogie, two squares who want to be together in a rapidly growing abstract world. You interact with the obstacles to influence Woogie’s path to be united with their friend. The third game is in the big city where you must find your way through the bustle to navigate joy, excitement and being homesick for friends and family.
The result is an intriguing set of aesthetic elegant puzzles with equally appealing stories. As you play you learn about the art and the artists with quotes and content. You get to know real art, not as a distant observer but by getting your hands dirty. It's a calming artsy puzzle adventure.
