Play OverviewPlay Overview

SteamWorld Dig (2017) is an action platform game where you play steam-powered robots trying to recover their lost civilisation. The two games in the series draw on classics like Dig Dug, Rick Dangerous, Repton and Boulderdash.

In SteamWorld Dig 2, like the first game, you control Dorothy, a steam-driven robot searching for Rusty, the protagonist of the previous game who disappeared. You explore a vast underground mine system, beating enemy creatures and collecting resources. To do this you excavate the ground and create tunnels through which to travel. All with the press of a button.

Dorothy gains abilities and weapons to assist your mining, fighting, running and jumping. This, in turn, opens up new areas of the underground mines to explore and fresh enemies to defeat as you edge ever closer to finding rusty. It's a simple premise expertly executed and is a game full of character as well as action.
