Content Warning (2024) is a horror adventure where you descend to haunted worlds with your friends aiming to record popular spooky footage for your in-game audience. To play you team up, explore the current location, encounter scary creatures and try and film them without dying. It stands out for its light-hearted twist on survival games where you are incentivised to take ever greater risks to catch more danger on camera.
Once you've found your squad you can customise how you look by selecting different faces and buying equipment to help you once you descend to the world. As you explore you encounter different monsters and cursed items that are ripe with life-threatening comedy to film. One player has the camera and must aim and shoot footage well if you are to succeed.
The aim is to make it back to the surface and upload your footage to your SpookyTube channel. You have 3 days to get enough footage uploaded to hit the ad revenue you need to move on. The better your videos do the more kit you can upgrade for your next outing.
The result is a silly scary game that offers some novel twists. The creatures you meet and the filming with your camera both use real physics. This, combined with the voice chat and ever more dangerous scenarios makes for a challenge that although unnerving, is more often funny than scary.
