Play OverviewPlay Overview

Deep Rock Galactic (2020) is shooting game where you play a team of dwarves in a totally destructible world. You explore caves and battle enemy hordes that are different each time you play (like Left 4 Dead).

It’s a game you play until you die and then start again. But you do this with a team of four players. The levels are generated each time you play, but cleverly balanced so you have to rely on teammates if you are to survive. You need different characters in your team to do well: Gunners have powerful guns, Scouts are fast and light the way, Drillers can chew through solid rock and the Engineer supports the team with defensive structures and turrets.

Each time you set out you must also choose carefully between various powerful weapons and advanced gadgets: flamethrowers, gatling guns, portable platform launchers, and much, much more. And don’t forget to bring torches to light up the dark. The missions have side-quests like finding a particular mineral or collecting alien eggs as well as coming out alive.

Our examiner, Ben Kendall, first checked Deep Rock Galactic 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Andy Robertson and updated 3 days ago.

Rated PEGI 16 for Strong Violence. During mining operations, the player’s character will be required to fight a multitude of small and large alien fantasy characters. Players can use a variety of weapons to decimate the fantasy characters. They will explode immediately when shot or after the health gauge reaches zero. Lots of green liquid and body parts will be seen.
Users Interact: The game enables players to interact and communicate with each other, so may expose players to language usually associated with older rated games.

Rated for younger players in the US. ESRB TEEN for Blood, Language, Use of Alcohol and Tobacco, Violence. Players can explore for resources, dig through mines, and battle various bug-like alien creatures (e.g., spawns, grunts, larvae). Players use pistols, shotguns, machine guns, and rifles to kill enemies in fast-paced combat. Battles with bugs are highlighted by realistic gunfire, explosions, and coloured splatter effects. Human characters emit small puffs of blood when shot. During the course of the game, players' characters can purchase and consume alcoholic beverages, sometimes resulting in screen-blurring effects. One character is often depicted smoking a cigar in a bottom-screen portrait. The word “sh*t” appears in the game.

Skill Level

10+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content.
