Play OverviewPlay Overview

Phasmophobia (2020) (Phasmophobia VR) is a horror survival game where you and your team investigate paranormal activity. It focuses on creating a realistic world built to get your heart racing, through interactive ghost-hunting equipment and teamwork.

Each session involves taking your team to a new location and investigating several hauntings that will change each time you play. There are several areas that range from houses to prisons, sewers and hospitals. The novelty is that both the locations and ghosts are freshly generated in each game, so you must use real skill and detective work to find and deal with each Ghost. You use equipment such as an Ouija Board, Salt, EMF Reader, Motion Sensors, UV Flashlight, Spirit Box and more.

You can choose between being the player watching the others and offering advice, or being the feet on the ground doing the ghost hunting. It’s an unusual combination that has driven popularity on the PC and Mac.

Currently, there are no plans for Phasmophobia to come to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch or the next generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. There are Phasmophobia games on iOS and Android but these aren’t the same and have been recently created by other developers.

Our examiner, Andy Robertson, first checked Phasmophobia 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Goran Wallgren and updated 8 months ago.
