Red and the Phantom Castle (2021) is a fantasy adventure game. This is the first part in a series of games featuring the character Red. It combines running and jumping, combat and collecting to make an exciting adventure set in a world that has lost all its colour. Help Red save the Queen and restore the kingdom. A strong narrative combined with a variety of game styles makes for an engaging experience.

Play involves running, jumping and collecting coins. There is also combat with the enemies, known as Gobins, which involves punching and kicking, and swinging a sword once you have found it. As you progress there are also some quick time events (where you must press the correct button when prompted). Some sections are timed planned routes, while others are more of an open world where you can explore and encounter enemies and helpful creatures.

Red and the Phantom Castle contains a variety of game styles within it to tell an epic hero's story. At times it is a relaxing collection quest, at others it is a fast paced parkour game needing timed jumps. You never know what will happen next to the cute character of Red.
