Play OverviewPlay Overview

Rusty Lake Paradise (2018) is an unusual point-and-click puzzle set in the Rusty Lake universe where you play through plagues reminiscent of the ten plagues of Egypt in the biblical story of Exodus. With a unique mystery at the core of the story, challenging puzzles and a story that offers connecting threads to the other games in the franchise, it's a novel entry to the series and wider fiction of Rusty Lake.

Set in 1776 on a remote island in the Rusty Lake fiction, your mother mysteriously dies, and a set of ten vile plagues set themselves upon the island and its inhabitants. By interacting with your family members around the island and solving strange and often macabre puzzles, you must stop the blights and restore peace.

Unlike many of the other Rusty Lake games, which often tell a complex intertwining story, this game is only tangentially related to most of the events of the other games, being most connected to Rusty Lake Hotel, but the narrative threads it does offer are very impactful on the overall story of the series.

Gameplay is similar to the other games in the series; you explore the various areas and collect items, and use them to unlock new areas, collect other items or complete puzzles. Many of these puzzles have macabre or disturbing elements, such as forcing animals and humans to drink blood pumped up from the ground, or crushing leeches to collect a key. The solutions to puzzles are often not immediately obvious, often requiring deep thinking and lateral thinking, making them a tough but rewarding challenge.

It's a unique game in the series, which offers a plethora of new and unusual puzzles, mysterious story elements and a unique narrative that makes it a compelling entry.
