The Past Within is a co-operative puzzle game where you solve a mystery by communicating with the past. You play the game with another person, either in the same room or elsewhere, by communicating what your different times and perspectives reveal.

This teamwork makes it an unusual experience as much about communication as pure puzzle solving. Each of you have clues that you must combine and discuss to find the solutions. Play involves observing the world and communicating what you see around you to help one another progress.

The game is played in the Rusty Lake universe. Inspired by the humour and uneasiness of David Lynch's TV series Twin Peaks it aims to add something new to the point-and-click genre by creating a lot of suspense and atmosphere in an "escape room" style. It has interesting and strange connections with each other and every instalment revealing more about the Rusty Lake mystery.
