In a beautifully hand-drawn world, you need to create pathways with the cards through dreamlike spatial puzzles. As you do this you discover formative memories of your character stemming from insecurities and emotions of high school and beyond.
It starts simply, but soon requires considerable thinking and planning to complete each of the geographic puzzles. It works because the cards themselves feel tactile and alive. As you use the screen to manipulate them and create a path it's like you are ruffling and shuffling a real deck.
Through this, the game tells its coming-of-age story with the interactions and world of the game. Without spoken dialogue or narration, you become intimately acquainted with the protagonist as you help him through his world and his memories.
