Play Overview
Detroit: Become Human (2018) is a branching narrative game from Quantic Dream, the studio behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. This is the third game in the series and offers a more refined version of the filmic branching experience.
The game follows a theme of android consciousness and ethics similar to West World. You play three characters: Connor, a police investigator android, Kara, a housekeeper android who develops artificial consciousness and becomes responsible for a young girl's safety, Markus, a caretaker android who, after gaining consciousness, takes it upon himself to free others like him from bondage.
As with the other games from this developer you have to make detailed decisions for each character which result in dramatically a branching narrative. Unlike the previous games, though, you get to see which parts of the narrative you chopped off or missed out on at the end of each chapter.
