The game has no instructions or tutorials to get you started, but is really simple to pick up with a little bit of trial and error. Battles are against computer controlled teams and you win by timing attacks with the music. Each ape has a specific note combination that triggers an attack or defence. Along the bottom of the screen are coloured drums that you click on with your mouse in time with the music. Get the correct note combination to attack the opposing team.
As you win battles your status changes from peasant to citizen all the way up to God. Fighting higher level squads can give you more points but they are harder to defeat. You work to build up your abilities and your squad by beating increasingly difficult opponents.
A very simple game, with hand drawn style graphics, that gets progressively harder as you level up, but you will keep at it so that you can get hats for your apes, and who doesn't like hats?
