Best Persistant World Games

Most games invite you to play in an unusual world for a period of time. You either win or lose and then start again. Games with persistent worlds continue on after you have stopped playing. This may be offered by a Minecraft server, or a specific games whose world evolves over a long time.

Because the worlds continue while you are not playing, when you return things may have changed (grown, decayed or even been extended or destroyed by other players). Persistent world exist in their own virtual space whether or not your console is turned on, which means they run on a server. This is sometimes provided as part of the game or needs to be set up (and sometimes paid for) by your group of players.
