Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition (2019) is a role-play game based on the feline adventures in Erin Hunter's Warriors books. You create and customise your cat character to join one of the clans to play your part in the cat hierarchy and adventures. It stands out for offering a believable world where players can make their own stories, interact with a rich environment, explore the world and organise their cat clans.
Warriors is a long-running fantasy book series about five cat clans: ShadowClan, RiverClan, ThunderClan, WindClan and StarClan. You start the game by extensively customizing your cat and then picking one of the tribes. From there you start to get to know the world and meet your fellow clan members - and are soon embroiled in the soap opera of feline community life.
Unlike other games, Warrior Cars: Ultimate Edition doesn't enforce game rules, model fights or keep track of progress. Instead, players imagine this for themselves using the systems provided by the game. For example, if you get in a fight you turn on wounds on your car, which other players can then treat with moss and other items. Or you can be sent to hunt for food and take on a whole tracking and hunting mechanic modelled in the game.
The result is a game that creates an interactive world of Warrior Cats in which to play. It provides written guidance on roles and lore to get players started, supports this with flexible ways to depict the action, but then steps back to let players role-play any way they want.
